In the early days, you had to travel far to go to a spa. With the growing popularity and affordability of home spas, those days are over. Now you can have a spa right in the comfort of your own home. Industrial Innovations home spas have become more portable and easy to install – the reason why millions of people around the world enjoy their health benefits.

But owning a spa carries some responsibilities. If you have one installed at home, not just leave it in a corner and use it whenever you want. Like a dog "that needs a little love and care so may cause problems later. To get the most out of your investment and take full advantage of having a spa, be sure to keep these things in mind:

Periodically check the water and be in search of dirt, dirty walls and unpleasant odors. Soaking in a spa dirty is a bad idea and can make you sick. High temperatures also promote the release of body oils and grease in water. Change the water every three to six months, depending on how dirty the water is.

Keep the water temperature to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or less. The body can not tolerate higher temperatures and you could suffer heat stroke. To check the temperature, use a thermometer.

Skin infections are common with prolonged use. To play it safe, do not use the spa for more than 20 minutes a day. If you are pregnant or nursing, consult a physician before using a spa. The same applies to children.

Take a shower before taking a bath and do not wear any lotion. This can make the water dirty or create foam. The same applies to detergents that are kept in swimsuits. To eliminate this problem, carefully rinse your clothes or go swimming naked.

Make sure the spa has circulating pumps to keep water free from substances of algae and other dirt. Use only cleaning products recommended by the manufacturer. Disinfect the water regularly to prevent growth of harmful microorganisms. The amount of disinfectant you need depends on how often you use your spa.

Check the spa filter regularly. Replace drainage broken, damaged or defective means to minimize the risk of serious accidents. A good number of people have died when her hair became entangled in the drain cover.
